Chelsie Hicks, Outdoor Adventure Leader and Afternoon Friends Teacher

Hi! My name is Ms. Chelsie, I’m the Lead Seedlings Outdoor Teacher, and teacher of Afternoon Friends here at Wild Oak.  I received my BA in Psychology and Child and Family Studies from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I’ve worked with youth populations in all capacities since graduating in 2019. From wilderness therapy to boarding schools to the preschool classroom, I feel that my path has led me to the perfect place.  I have had an immense passion for the outdoors my entire life, and I am thrilled to get to be a part of instilling that same passion into the next generation!

I believe that nature is the best medicine, and that the woods can teach us so much, both academically and interpersonally. Through nature, your children are learning teamwork, gross motor skills, listening skills, group play, and so much more!

When I am not at Wild Oak, I enjoy hiking, exploring national parks, creating, and snuggling with my two pups!

I’m excited to be a part of this community, and to get to know your children while we explore this beautiful world together at Wild Oak!
