I am a North Carolina native! I grew up in Winston-Salem, but fell in love with the NC mountains on camping trips with my family and coming to summer camp in Hendersonville. I enjoy hiking and camping with my husband and our two dogs, and we love exploring the many trails nearby.
Education & Experience
I graduated from Wake Forest University with a bachelor’s in elementary education. Go Deacs! Since graduating, I have taught both in and out of the classroom. In the classroom, I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 6th grades as well as STEM for K-6. I always strive to have interactive hands-on lessons that help students understand the world around them.
Outside of the classroom, I spent a year teaching outdoor elementary education in the mountains of southern California. I taught science classes and facilitated team building and ropes courses for students in grades 5-12. The best part about teaching outdoor education is that nature becomes your classroom.
