Kayler Debrew, Afternoon and Summer Programs

I’m a native North Carolinian who loves living, adventuring, and learning in our mountains. My passion for the outdoors started when I attended summer camp in Hendersonville for the first time, and has only grown in the years following. I’ve worked on staff at summer camps, led backpacking programs, and facilitated environmental education programs for a total of seven years.

Education and Experience

In 2020, I graduated from Queens University of Charlotte with a B.S. in Sustainability Science and began to explore the benefits of nature-based education and hands-on learning.

I’m currently working on my Master’s degree in Experiential and Outdoor Education at Western Carolina University, with plans to graduate in 2024. I’m excited to continue my career at Wild Oak, and I strive to lead programs that support accessible outdoor learning, spark holistic intellectual development, and inspire a love of nature for students of all ages!
